OATS MASALA PURI
½ cup oats flour
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
¼ cup whole wheat flour
¼ cup gram flour
Oil for deep-frying
1 teaspoon white sesame seeds
1-2 green chillies, finely chopped
1 teaspoon toasted and crushed cumin seeds
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon ghee
1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
2. Combine oats flour, wheat flour, gram flour, crushed peppercorns, sesame seeds, green chillies, turmeric powder, crushed cumin seeds, salt, ghee and some warm oil in a bowl and mix well. Add some water and knead into a stiff dough.
3. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll out to make thin discs. Prick the discs all over with a fork. Cut them into star shape using a medium size star shaped cookie cutter.
4. Deep-fry each masalapuri in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
5. Serve hot.
